We Connect People to Life!
Our Mission
To teach children the ways in
which their lives are connected to
the lives and livelihoods of people and communities, plants and animals, soils and ecosystems, through the simple, daily activity of eating a meal.
We accomplish our mission through a variety of fun hands-on activities.  We believe that children learn best through touching, seeing, smelling, hearing, tasting and doing.  Our programs have been built around these senses.  See our programs below!
Farm Days

GENERAL FARM DAY PROGRAM
Take a field trip to the Farm!  Spend a day interacting with Sheep and learn about what it takes to be a shepherd, and learn more about the life of honeybees through games, a Honey Room tour, and honey tasting.  Other opportunities may include making your own rope to take home, using a fruit press to make your own juice, and making ice cream from scratch.
Each farm day includes a lunch that you make!  This is a popular way of teaching how food is grown and not bought in a store.

FAITH FACTOR
Faith Factor is a spin-off of the popular TV show Fear Factor.  We use Hebrews 12:1b-2a as the focus of the day.  "Let us run with perseverance.  The race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith."
This is a day of games and an obstacle course that lets the youth relate to chores done on our farm.  Your children will be active all day, and will go home knowing that life will have obstacles, but God gives strength and endurance.

GOOD SHEPHERD
Good Shepherd focuses on Matthew 10:14.  "I am the Good Shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me."
This is a day of leaning what it means to be a "Good Shepherd."  Your youth will experience first hand feeding and protecting sheep.  After relating to sheep, they will learn how to be a Good Shepherd to everyone around them.  Some activities in this session are rope-making and group initiative games.

ARMOR OF GOD
Armor of God is from Ephesians 6:14-17.  This verse goes through the parts of armor that we should wear as Christians.
Your group will learn how God has provided His Creation with many different ways to protect themselves.
Some activities for this option are games, armor/shield making, and exploring nature for different armor.

TABERNACLE
Based on Exodus 25, your youth will get the chance of making their own "furniture" of the Tabernacle.  Using ordinary household items, they will have the opportunity to use their imaginations to construct The Ark of the Covenant, the Table, the Basin, Altar of Incense, Altar of Burnt Offering, and the Candleholder.
This lesson is to teach about the Tabernacle and why we no longer need "furniture" in our churches (such of the burnt offering and the Ark of the Covenant).

Logistics
A Farm Day lasts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the Petit Jean Farm experience continues a lifetime.  Cost is $8.00 per person (adults and children) with lunch included.  Minimum of 8 participants.  We are located atop Petit Jean Mountain on Winrock Drive, just 50 minutes northewest of Little Rock.
